Carl and his wife Carole live outside Nashville, TN.  He is very active in assisting several academic institutions specifically helping veterans enroll in college.  He is a member of Delta Sigma Pi Fraternity and has been inducted into the Arizona Aviation Hall of Fame and the Arizona Veteran's Hall of Fame. Currently, he is the president of the Veteran's Resource Group located in Tennessee.
