Otherwise known as "The Dirty Thirties", the Dust Bowl holds some wonderful memories for the six Schneider kids, the surviving children of the J. P. Kerlin & Carl W. Schneider families and the grandchildren of Texas settlers. Little House on the High Plains gives a first-hand glimpse into the lives of Grace, Carl (Glen), Clyde, Frank (Finis), Joyce, and JoAnn as they grew up happy and healthy during the tumultuous years of the Dust Bowl and World War II.
